Tempo, a payments-focused L1 blockchain incubated by Paradigm and Stripe, has launched its public testnet. The network features dedicated payment lanes, stablecoin-native gas, instant deterministic settlement, and predictably low fees (~0.1 cent per payment). Developers can build payments applications on a chain designed specifically for financial workloads, backed by design partners including Visa, Mastercard, Shopify, OpenAI, and Deutsche Bank.
